David Nason John Pitts Canaan War

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS, THAT I John Pitts of Boston in the County
of Suffolk Gentleman in consideration of Ninety Six dollars paid by David
Nayson of Canaan in the County of Somerset Yeoman (the receipt whereof
I do hereby acknowledge) do hereby give, grant, sell and convey unto the
said David Nayson a Certain tract of land Situate in said Canaan &
Contains twenty four acres more or less and is part of A.3. No 2 on G.1.
on a plan made by Daniel Steward Junr Surveyor dated August 16. 1816 bounded
Northerly partly by land this day Conveyed to Jona. Walker & partly
by land this day Conveyed to Edward Walker & easterly by the easterly
line of said Lot No 2 Westerly by the
Westerly line of said Lot No 2. & Southerly by the Southerly line
of Said lot
TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the aforegranted premises to the said David Nayson
his heirs and assigns, to their use and behoof forever. And I do
covenant with the said David Nayson his heirs and assigns, that I am lawfully
seized in fee of the aforegranted premises; that they are free of all incumbrances;
that I have good right to sell and convey the same to the said David Nayson
and that I will warrant and defend the same premises to the said David
Nayson his heirs and assigns forever, against the lawful claims and demands
of all persons. Excepting from my said Covenants of Warranty all
titles by Possession all Roads across the same & all taxes that may
have been assessed on the same In witness whereof I the said John
Pitts have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of August
in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighteen
