OSBORN

Tryiong to trace: Louis M. OSBORN(E), son Samuel and Elavine (?) OSBORN , b. 1876/7 in MN. He may be the Louis M. OSBORN who appears as a boarder, age 23 and b. in May of 1877, living at 615 Cedar Street in St. Paul in 1900 census . The St. Paul city directories first show that Louis M. in 1899 as a clerk at the law firm of O'Neall & Finchout and boarding at 249 Selby. In 1900 he has moved to the above address and is a clerk for the Northern Pacific Railway. He went back to law since in 1905 he is chief clerk for the Attorney General and rooming back at Selby St. In 1907, he is shown as still chief clerk but residing at Mahtomedi (currently in Washington Co.). Thereafter there are no listings for him in the St. Paul city directories. Can anyone find him in 1910? Any Mahtomedi directories? Thx.

JOSEPH

I do not know if you can help me.

Here is the information I have. My grandmother Rose Joseph, last living in Pine Springs in Washington County. She is buried at Calvary Cemetery, she was 92 years old born Sept. 3rd Died Dec.5, 1988. Entered several county fairs and the Minnesota State Fair. Belonged to several garden clubs in the area. I do believe at this cemetery many of my relatives are buried by her. I would like to know is who her parents are and there births and deaths. Her maiden name was Kaufhold, I think her mothers name was Sophia and she was a midwife

My grandmother was born in St. Paul then moved to Mendota then to a farm in Ramsey County then on to North St. Paul area. I believe that her mother was living with her at the time of her death. Any information you can give me I will be grateful for thank you.

SULLIVAN, CAMERON, GALER

I am researching my maternal grfather/grmother. In the Mn Census for Stillwater for 1870 Wash Co. Roll T132(I believe) Vol. 2, Pg. 082 , I find a A. Sullivan and Mary Sullivan. On same roll, Pg.963, I find a N. Sullivan/Rams, St. Paul.

Nina, born July 5, 1889, Minnesota, was the daughter of an Archie Sullivan b. Can, and a Mary Cameron b Can. with (I believe a brother Silas (no info except informant on death cert.) She died as Mrs. Douglass Galer, l1/18/1914, Seattle, Washington.

I was wondering if this could possibly be her parents that I found in the 1870 Census.

SONTAG, HUSTIG

I'm trying to trace my grandfather's roots. His name is George Sontag and had 3 brothers: Allois, George, Gervais, and Edwin. His Father's name was Jacob, and he was married to Anna Husting. I'm finding nothing on the Sontag side and will probably be spending some time in Hastings over the next few months. I would volunteer to do something for USGenweb while I'm down there. What do you recommend?

I believe Georges Rivard was my great-grandfather, his wife's name is believed to have been Celina(sp?)

Their son,Fred, was my grandfather. He was born in 1879. There were also sons named Georges(Judd), Oscar, Phillip and perhaps Louis; there was also at least one sister named Hermine. They lived on a farm near Stillwater in the St.Croix valley. I remember visiting the farm(abandoned) in the summer of 1958 or 57.There are Rivards in Taylors Falls and I believe they are cousins. Would welcome any information about the Rivards of Washington Co.,MN. Can e-mail me at

RIVARD/REVOR

My mother's family came from a farm near Stillwater on the St.Croix. Their original French name was Rivard, but when the children attended school, it was anglesized to Revor. I belive my great-grandfather's name was George(s) Rivard and his wife's name was Celina(sp?). My grandfather(Fred, or Alfred or Frederick) was b. in 1879 and was one of 8-10 children. Some of his siblings names were Georges, Louis, Oscar, Phillip, Hermine, Prosper. I'm sure there were more sisters but I don't have their names. I remember as a young child in 1958 visiting the farm outside Stillwater. Today it is supposedly a housing development with Rivard Street as part of it. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who has information about the Rivards of Washington Co., or is related to them.

BAAY

I wish to submit my information. My father died September 15, 1998 and ashes are interred at the cemetery in Mahtomedi. His name is John Matthew Baay. He was born in Baarn, Netherlands on January 19, 1926.

He and my mother, Catherine Louise Harvey were married 1948 - 1956. Duane John Baay and Barbara Jean Baay (myself) were from that marriage. Then John M. Baay married Arlene Sax. Their children are Cindy, Linda and Scott.

I wish to submit this information, since the Baay family is very scarce, even on the GenWeb pages.

Thank you for your help.
