I am looking for information on Ellen Aurora JOHANSEN born Dec 1892 in Norway, emigrated to North Dakota in 1908. She married Ray Ira NEARING in Valley City, Barnes, North Dakota in 1914. Their first 3 children were born in ND, Oral Leroy, Leonard, and Ileen. I am especially interested in further information on Ray and Ellen's marriage, and Ellen's parents.

Charles WELLS married Anna BORGERSON in Valley City, Barnes Co., ND April 13, 1901. Charles WELLS was born in Holland, Ottawa Co., MI in 1866 to Wesley WELLS and Sarah ? from Ohio. He had 4 brothers and sisters. They lived for a short time in Portage, Ohio according to the 1880 Census. After his wife died he worked for the railroad as a station caretaker. He died 11-11- 1942 in Mitchell,Davidson Co., SD. Anna Karoline BORGERSON was born 9-24-1872 in Eidsvoll Langset Parish, Liliehammer, Norway to Johannes BORGERSON and Andrea JOHNSDATTER. Her family (parents and 8 brothers and sisters) immigrated in 1872. They resided in Lead, SD, but Anna worked as a seamstres and lived with the families she worked for for 3-4 months at a time. She died December, 1926 in White Lake, SD.
Queries- Can you locate Anna BORGERSON or Charles WELLS in the 1900 Census in ND? Was Charles a member of the military? Were there any railroad companies in that area the Charles could have worked for?

I am trying to verify a birthdate of Thalma THORKELSON, child of Mr and Mrs. Thorkel Thorkelson who lived in the Fingal area back in the late 1800's. There were two Thelma THORKELSONS and they would have been my great aunts. The first Thalma was born ? (I think in 1897) and died at the age of 5 years and 10 months from scarletina. She died on Nomember 23, 1902 and he was buried at the churchyard of the Lutheran Church in Norman township according to the obituary I have in my possession. She is the one I am looking for information about. I want to verify her birthdate and find out the name of the cemetery where she is buried. The next Thelma E. My uncle, Robert Landahl, is in town visiting us from CA and has asked frequently about his brother, Melvin Landahl, who died in Valley City, ND by drowning in the river there on the way to school one day with his other brother, Wallace Landahl. This happened probably about 1917 or thereabouts, but no one is alive to verify this. Would you be so kind to see if there's some way we could find out about this incident and/or whether there's a website we could look up a news article or something about this tragic event. My Grandfather's name was Andrew W. Landahl and Grandmother's name Amanda Landahl, and apparently they farmed in the Valley City area. My grandmother, Irene WYLIE WOOD JOHNSON was born in ND (Valley City?) on March 27, 1909. Her parents are Melitus Handy WYLIE and Della B. CROSS. I am looking for information of their homestead, where they lived, how they lived, etc. Melitus and Della had 5 or 6 children, Irene, Genevieve, Alice, Raymond, Lorraine. I believe they had another son who passed away at the age of 9 or 10. Any information, please.
