My aunt, Sadie Mae Stanton Ð b.13.Sep.1890; d.2.Jul.1920, Homesteaded in the mid-1900Õs, near Medora North Dakota.Ê She filed and proved up on 2 (possibly 3) patents. 17.May.1920.Ê She died 2 months later in Des Moines, Iowa (her family's residence).Ê She apparently was forced off the Homestead.Ê The family story goes that she died of a "broken heart" the medical term for being frightened.Ê If anyone knows anything about this, I would appreciate knowing about it.
