OLE PETTERSON FAMILY

In doing research it is noted that many of the family members changed the surname spelling to Peterson.
Ole Petterson and Caroline Ziner were born in Trysil, Innlandet County, Østerdalen Region, Norway. They immigrated with many of Caroline's family to the United States on 28 April 1869 first settling in the Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin area where they were married in September and where children Annie, Louis, and Minnie were born.
By 1885 the family was in Township 143 in Dunn/Stark/Dunn County where Clara, Alfred, George, and Ida were born. Ole was one of the first Postmasters in the County having been named such in March 1898 for Rockspring. The family was active and contributed a lot to the county. A lengthly article by daughter Ida is written in Dauntless Dunn - 1970 on Pages 274-276 and are referenced in other pages. Contact the County Coordinator (below) for more information if interested.
