KILLDEER CEMETERY
The SW Quarter of the NW Quarter of the SW Quarter of Section 26 in Township 145 N, Range 95 W Section 26
The Killdeer Cemetery is the largest cemetery in Dunn County. It contains 5 acres and at the time of this transcription, 668 recorded burials. The Killdeer Cemetery is located less than 1 mile south of Killdeer, ND on the east side of Hwy 22. It is well marked, fenced, and well maintained. This list is considered incomplete because the interment book for the Killdeer Cemetery is not original to the cemetery. It is believed the original interment book was burned in a fire. The source for this transcription contains only the grave addresses and names. In many cases it also includes the year or date of death. The date is displayed exactly how it appears in the copied resource. Dates with no century indicated are in the 1900s. Any year shown as 00, 01, 02, or 03 are in 2000, 2001, 2002, or 2003 respectively.

There are 8 graves in each lot. Graves 1 through 4 are on the east side and graves 5 through 8 are on the west side.

The Killdeer Cemetery was surveyed in July of 1917 by the same county surveyor, George E. Hanson, who also surveyed the Old Dunn Center Cemetery in October of that same year. Both cemetery plats are nearly identical.

PLEASE NOTE: There are 2 lists included in this file. The first list was created from sexton records (May 19, 2003). The second list was created from tombstone transcriptions done May 16, 2003 and is only of Block 4, the NW block of Killdeer Cemetery, and NOT the entire cemetery. There was no map created of the walk through, therefore this list appears in alphabetical order.

**ALSO: According to information provided by the Dunn County Historical Society 12/9/2003, the graves for David Lynch, George Lynch, and Susan Lynch have been relocated from the Killdeer Cemetery to Our Saviors Lutheran Cemetery in Halliday, ND.
