He changed his name from Owen Mickel to Montie Montana. Appeared in several movies with several stars and was billed as the "world's greatest trick-rope artist." Appeared also in rodeos, circus events, and wild west shows.
While in Emmons County, the family lived in Omio; in the 1910 Census the family included father Edgar O., mother Mary E., son Glen E., and son Arthur E. By 1920 the family had moved to Corson County, South Dakota; in 1930 at Mission, Lake County, Montana (indicates Owen is a performer) and in 1940 his parents and brother Carl and his family are living in Montebello, Los Angeles County, California.
