TAPPEN, N.D.

Marie Braun, 70, of Tappen died Friday, June 2, 2000, at Medcenter One in Bismarck, N.D., following a lengthy illness. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Philip Neri Catholic Church in Napoleon, N.D. The Rev. Thomas Krupich and the Rev. Gerard Braun will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery with the Dahlstrom Funeral Home of Napoleon in charge of arrangements. There will be a rosary service at 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Visitation will be from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Monday, all at the funeral home.
Marie Keifer was born Feb. 16, 1930, to John and Teresa (Oches) Keifer at Hague, N.D. She received her education in rural Emmons County, N.D., schools and continued to live on the family farm near Strasburg, N.D.
She married Edmond Braun on July 4, 1949, at St. Aloyius Catholic Church at rural Strasburg. Following their marriage they moved to Bismarck for three years. They purchased a farm home south of Tappen, where they have lived and farmed for the past 41 years. She was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church in Tappen and the church altar society. She enjoyed baking, cooking, gardening and playing cards.
Survivors include her husband of Tappen; four sons, Ron (Phyllis) Braun of Rawlins, Wyo., Don (Lori) Braun of Tappen, Bob (Marilyn) Braun of Kulm, N.D., and Francis (JoEll) Braun of Thornton, Colo.; one daughter, Kathleen (Gary) Doll of Devils Lake, N.D.; 16 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her stepmother and two brothers.
Casketbearers will be Tom Keifer, Reggie Braun, Gary Keifer, Eric Braun, Bobby Braun and Arlo
