Emma Schlittenhardt

Emma Schlittenhardt, 103, Bismarck, died May 26, 2004, in a Bismarck care center. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, at Bismarck Baptist Church, with the Rev. Don Burnett officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 9 p.m. today at Eastgate Funeral Service, Bismarck, and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Emma was born Aug. 1, 1900, in Colgate, Okla., to Gottlieb and Rosina (Phillipi) Taxis. She attended school in Colgate. She lived in Hazelton with her aunt and uncle Jacob Taxis. Emma married Philip Schlittenhardt on March 7, 1922.
Emma was devoted to her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Bismarck Baptist Church, Bismarck.
Emma is survived by three daughters, Martha Just, Ella Skager and Alma Miller, all of Bismarck; three sons and daughters-in-law, George (Alyce) Schlittenhardt, Valley City, and Darrell (Oddie) Schlittenhardt and Dennis (Bonnie) Schlittenhardt, all of Bismarck; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Philip; a daughter, Christina; a son, Herman; two granddaughters, Ruth Bennett and Vicky Olson; one grandson, Ronald Miller; one great-grandson, Benjamin Bosch; her parents; two brothers; one nephew; and one niece.
Memorials may be given to the Bismarck Baptist Church.
