My Pledge: I've been a staunch supporter of the intents and purposes of USGenWeb since the late 1990s. I've observed and participated in many of the project growth struggles. The requirements and difficulties for a coordinator who loves genealogy, but requires them to be technical in a variety of software, brings us problems in attracting new people. Bylaws established many years ago create problems within a contemporary fast-paced and ever-changing technology. The advent of genealogy fee-for-service entities that maintain huge databases (although loaded with many errors) bring challenges in keeping USGenWeb in the forefront. Many other problems face the Advisory Board and certainly I do not have all the answers but I do promise and pledge my mind will be open to ideas in resolving issues for the benefit of the complete project. There are many throughout this project spending a great deal of positive time and effort and I would like to be a part of it. I have years of professional, management, and volunteer experience, leadership, team partnerships, and working in the trenches. I want to put my background to work for the benefit of all NWPL County Coordinators, in particular, and the USGenWeb project as a whole. I would very much appreciate your vote.

My USGenWeb Background:
I am a current coordinator in North Dakota for: Dunn County, Eddy County, Emmons County, McHenry County, and Sioux County, and previous coordinator for Chickasaw and Dickinson Counties in Iowa, Traill County in North Dakota, Clay County in Minnesota, Matanuska-Susitna Borough in Alaska and in the archives arena; North Dakota Archives, Digital Maps, Tombstone Transcription Project, and Minnesota Digital Maps.
I joined the Navy right after high school. When at home, on leave, my paternal aunt and grandmother would sit me down and go through all the genealogy information they had gathered for years. So in 1959, the genealogy bug bit me.
I started my association with USGenWeb in the late 1990's. Sharyl Ferrall was the Iowa Allamakee County Coordinator and I started doing some record transcribing for her. With her "coaxing" I finally buckled and became a county coordinator for two counties in Iowa. I was a member of the Advisory Board in 2006/2007 as the Representative At Large (RAL) and again in 2016/2022 as County Coordinator for this Region.

I am happy to answer any questions you have. eMail me at lineage40@cox.net.

Whether you vote for me or not, please take a few minutes to vote from 1 July to 31 July. Your participation and vote is very important to the project:
