Established 4 Jan 1873, organized 1 Sep 1884 - Napoleon named as county seat. 17 Jan 1899 county seat relocated to King. Napoleon restored as county seat 30 Sep 1899. Named for Gen John Alexander Logan (1826-1886) - Civil War vet from IL. Served as Congressman and US Senator. Unsuccessful candidate for VP in Republican party in 1884.
Area 993 square miles.
