HENRY FRANK KOCH

Henry Frank was born in Davenport, Scott County, Iowa on 11 July 1894 of German parents Heinrich (Henry) Joseph and Anna Borgman Koch. Henry Joseph was the son of Nicholas and in 1900 they were living in the same household in Merton, Clark County, South Dakota. In 1910 the family is living in Deering. Henry Frank's siblings included; Flora, Martha, and Reinhold.
By 1918 when Henry Frank was inducted into World War I he was an auto mechanic and machinist in Deering. He was inducted at Towner on 28 March 1918. He was sent to Camp Dodge in Iowa and served in Company A, 5th Battalion, 163rd Depot Brigade until 20 April 1918 when he was transferred to Company G, 127th Infantry and sent overseas on 3 May 1918. Henry Frank was in the engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonne; Defensive Sectors: Gerardmer (Alsace); and Grange-le-Comte (Lorraine). He was killed in action on 28 September 1918 and buried in Grave 30, Row 33, Block B, Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, Romagne-S0us—M0ntfaucon, Meuse, France.

ALFRED T. KONGSLIE
Alfred was born to Tjostel and Ronnaug Kongslie on 23 April 1889 in Watson, Chippewa County, Minnesota. His siblings included; Anna, George, Annette, Christian, John, and Olaf.
From the Official Roster of North Dakota Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines of World War 1917-1918; KONGSLIE, ALFRED T. Army number 2,786,518; registrant from Bottineau county; born, Watson, Minn., April 23, 1889, of (nationality of parents not given [note: Norwegian]); occupation, farmer; inducted at Bottineau on May 24, 1918; sent to Camp Lewis, Wash.; served in 8th Company, 2nd Battalion, 166th Depot Brigade, to June 17, 1918; Company F, 157th Infantry, to Sept. 22, 1918; Company B, 110th Infantry, to death; overseas from Aug. 8, 1918, to death. Engagements: Offensive: Meuse-Argonrne. Defensive Sector: Clermont (Lorraine). Died on Nov. 8, 1918, at Base Hospital No. 8, Savenay, France, of wounds received in action; remains returned to U. S. on Sept. 22, 1920, and buried at Upham, N. Dak."

LEO JOHN KRAFT
Leo was born in Karlsruhe to Ben and Katherine Kraft on 5 September 1926. Included in his siblings are Pius (1922), Albert (1924), Benedict (1926), Alice (1929), Helen (1931), William (1932), Marcella (1935), James (1937), Marvin, and Patrick.
He entered the U. S. Army at Fort Snelling, Minnesota on 16 January 1945. He was killed in Korea by the enemy at Wonton-Ni on 31 May 1951. At the time of his death he was a Master Sergeant and was serving in AAA Battery, 187th Air Borne Infantry Regimental Combat Team of the 101st Air Borne Division. He was awarded the was awarded the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart, the Combat Infantryman's Badge, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal.
On 1 October 1948 Leo married Eileen Vaughn at Cumberland County, North Carolina. Eileen was born in 1925 in Pennsylvania and at the time of marriage was in the Women's Army Corps.
