Louis Mathias Skarison

There is a great amount written of the Skarison family so much of what is contained herein will be through links to various biographies and information.
For reasons never discovered in research, when Louis was in the civil war he enlisted under the alias of Mattes Matteason.
The family lived in the Dakota Territory and North Dakota for a very long period of time between homesteading in Traill County and McHenry County. Biographies of Louis and family are written in at least three North Dakota history books.
There were two other children. Mary (April 1875 - August 1936) married Ole Erickson; could not be located on FindAGrave. Carl born between (1883-1888) died in infancy but date and burial unknown.
