The Lisbon Post Office was established on January 2, 1880.

Early Lisbon Business Owners
M.P McArthur-came to Lisbon in 1882 and established McArthur and company, a hardware store. Mr. McArthur was born March 19, 1855 in Jamestown, NY.
John Kinan-built first store in July 1880. He was born in 1841 in New Brunswick, Canada. He was a grocer. Other groceries in Lisbon included J. Duncan's Cash Store and A.H. Moore & Son
P.J. Hennessy-operated the Lisbon Hotel in 1881
C.W. Kinney-operated the Lisbon Restaurant, which also included a bakery and confectionary.

John and "Rochey" (Benson) Challey-early Lisbon residents.
John Challey was born in Illinois and worked in the funeral and furniture business. He died in 1944
Ragnilda "Rochey"Benson was born in 1867 in Minnesota and died in 1964.
They had 10 children, all born in Lisbon.
