Gayton Cemetery Burial Extract
In 2004 this cemetery is in use, has a sign over the north gate, mowed
occasionally, and is fenced. One of the earliest cemeteries in the
Selfridge vicinity. In addition to the markders noted in 2004, there
are several unmarked graves. There are no known records for the cemetery.

GAYTON FAMILY CEMETERY

The cemetery contained the remains of John Bennett Gayton and Sophie Irene Gayton. They were reinterred at Saint James Episcopel Cemetery by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in preparation of Oahe Dam flooding.
