Entitled; "Fort Yates Cemetery in Frosty Winter) From the 2004 Cemeteries of Sioux County by the James River Genealogy Club: This cemetery is located just west of the Standing Rock Mission St. Peter Church on Mission Drive in the northern part of Fort Yates. The cemetery is surrounded by chain link fence and mowed. There are many graves without markers and many with markers, but no names or dates. The sextion maintains all of the county Catholic cemeteries and keeps the records. The Club has copies of the church death registers from 1881-2004 but the records between 1881-1944 do not show the cemetery of burial, so "no stoners" during that period may be buried somewhere else.
