Veteran and Pioneer of Fort Yates is Dead
Fort Yates, N.D., May 11. M. E. Urell, 78, who came to Fort Yates with troops in territorial days, is dead.
He entered military service at the age of 16 and served throughout the Civil War.
He served for many years as sergeant in charge of Indian police affairs here, and one time served as deputy sheriff of Grant County.
