A 2015 cemetery sign indicates it is called "Hylestad Church Cemetery" and the undated sign below is "Hylestad Cemetery." There is very little information but this is definitely a pioneer cemetery with the earliest burial in 1878. The established date for the church and cemetery could not be found but in 1920 the church became part of the Buxton Lutheran Parish with some other area churches and in 1952 it was dissolved. The cemetery remains active. FindAGrave has a burial as late as 2019. Other spellings for Hylestad include Hillestad, Hylestad, Hillstad, Hillstead, Hyllestad, and Hillistad.
