709 Campton Street Built 1909
DAVID P. BARTLEY HOME

E. Weller completed this fine residence for David P. Bartley in 1909 at a cost of $3,500. Weller attempted to charge more for the construction of the house by pointing out the fact that one of the doors was build the wrong way and wanted to change it. Bartley said the door was fine as is and did not allow Weller to change it.

Bartley, with his partner Edwin Gray, are credited with starting the mass production of copper in White Pine County by leasing the now famous Ruth Mine originally discovered in the 1990's by Dan C. McDonald (1859 - 1927). Mark Requa began the first actual production of copper from the county 1907.

In 1907 Campton Street was named Court Street.
