John C. Casson was born in OTSEGO county, NY, and when a boy came to the town of 
Tuscarora (Steuben Co, NY-AC), with his parents, where he has since resided. Mr. 
Casson is one of the most enterprising citizens of his town, and also one of the 
wealthiest, owning considerable property by himself, and is also in partnership 
with his brother in real estate and in the manufacture of lumber. In politics he 
is an ardent Prohibishinist. He is unmarried and lives with his brother, 
Mordecai, who is mentioned elsewhere in this book. From "Landmarks of Steuben
