Otego, Otsego County, NY Submitted by Carol MacPherson Copy from the Otego Historical Society. Visited by Carmilla Ritchey on 3 November 1978 Re-Typed by Annette Campbell |
This cemetery is located on the Back River Road between Otego and Oneonta, in Stuart
Hurlburt's upper farm in a cow pasture, just a short distance from the road. Only one stone
still standing, rest broken, toppled over, broken and scattered. There is no fence of
any kind to protect these stones from cows. It would be a major job to repair these stones. An elderly old time resident may remember who is buried there. This cemetery had some work done on it by a Ross Anderson as an Eagle Scout project. A fence has been erected around the cemetery. Carol drove past and says it doesn't look like stones were restored and did not walk thru it because of high grass--Aug. 2006. QUACKENBUSH, Alice born 1848 died____.
