Town of Milford Annual Town Meeting Minutes 1821 Page 198 Whereas the office of Constable in the Northeast section of the town of Milford in the County of Otsego has become vacant by the desertion of Joseph Merriam and whereas the Freeholders and inhabitants of the Said town of Milford have for more than fifteen days neglected to fill such vacancy by Election Now Therefore Know ye that by virtue of power and authority vested in us Asa Eddy Ezra Adams and Joseph Mumford three of the Justices of the peace in the said town of Milford by the Statute in such case made and provided do hereby nominate and appoint unto the said office of Constable in the Said town of Milford William P Waite from this time to the first Tuesday in March Next Given Under our hands and Seales at Milford this Sixth day of January 1821 Asa Eddy………..
