The deceased was from the town of Otsego, Indiana. He was a man beloved and respected by all, the community has lost a good citizen, and the church a good and worthy member. She was an amiable wife, sister and mother. We hope and trust she rests with God. Her parting words were "My work is done and well done. I am happy and ready to go." In Maryland, on the 16hth inst., Helen P., only daughter of the Rev. Henry and Mary Ann GARLICK, aged 5 years 2 months and 22 days. (Poem included with notice) 4/12/1854 MARRIED In Oneonta, on the 10th inst., by Rev. E. C. Hodge, Mr. James CUMMINGS, of Westford, to Mrs Sabrina A. GOODRICH, of Sidney. DIED In Otego on the 6th inst., Deacon Abraham BLAKELEY, in the 92d year of his age. Deacon B. was born in Conn., whence he removed to Vermont soon after the Revolution, in which war he served on a number of occasions, as his services were called for. He came to Otego about the year 1800. For over 20 years he was an active magistrate in the town; and for many years conducting an extensive mechanical and farm business--and performing the duties of a christian, parent and citizen, in ann exemplary manner. He was for more than 70 years, a member of the Baptist Church, being one of the constituent members of the church in Otego, which to the extent of his ability, he served faithfully until his death. He leaves an aged widow, 2 daughters, with a number of grandchildren to mourn his loss. His funeral was attended on Sunday, by a large assembly, and the occasion improved by a discourse from his late Pastor E. Westcott Num. 23, 10 "Let me die the death of the righteous, and let my end be like his." Also on the 10th ult., Mrs. Sabrina SHEPHERD, wife of the late Benjamin Shepherd of Otego, and oldest daughter of the above mentioned Deacon B.; after a long painful illness, which she bore with christian resignation, in the 62d year of her age. 4/19/1854 DIED In Oneonta on the 13th inst., William FAIRCHILD, of the disease of the heart, aged 74 years. 4/26/1854 MARRIED In Oneonta, on the 23d inst., by the Rev. DIED In Honesville, on the 4th inst., Henry Guilford, son of H. A. & H. M. CLARK, age 1 year and 10 days. This is the third child these parents have lost in a fortnight of scarlatina. All their children- a lovely group as ever filled a parent's heart with joy- have been suddenly taken away- causing unspeakable grief here but certainly to blossom in immortal beauty in the better land. DIED In Burlington, suddenly on Oct. 28th, of numb palsey, Mrs. Lydia GARDNER, wife of Clark Gardner, aged 66 years. In Otsego, Oct. 28th, Mr. Stephen EDDY, in the 55th year of his age. In Otsego, on the 10th inst., after a few days' illness, Deacon Joseph NORTHRUP, aged 73 years. The deceased was one of the early settlers of this place, there being at the time of his settlement, here but two dwellings where the present village of Otego now stands. The farm on which he settled, and on which he lived for the past 53 years was then a howling wilderness, only one wagon having passed along the highway, which passes through it, at the time of his arrival here. He has been for many years a deacon of the Baptist Church of Otego, of which he has been a member about 24 years. He died in the hope of a glorious resurrectoin and left a large circle of relations and friends to mourn his loss. (Poem included with notice.) 11/21/1855 MARRIED At the hotel of E. C. H. was one of the pioneer settlers of the village of Delhi. In early life he came to that place, and contemporaneously with Gen. Root, Dr. Paine and others, made it his residence. For many years he was noted as an active and intelligent citizen, ever ready to use his utmost exertions to promote the growth and prosperity of the village. His correct and able discharge of the onerous duties of principle Magistrate, will long be remembered by business men with whom officially he came in contact. He was spared by the alloted term of life, and endured much suffering from diseases peculiar to old age.- Ripe in years and with a full share of the trails and troubles incident to earth's pilgrimage, he has gone down to the grave with a confident assurance that his "Redeemer liveth". 4/1/1857 MARRIED At Ballard's hotel, March 26th, by Rev. WICKHAM, aged 33 years. The death of this beloved friend, will be deeply deplored, not only by her bereaved relatives, but by an extended circle of friends and acquaintances, to whom she was endeared by the warm ties of early friendship. But a few days since, she was with us; but disease had marked her for his own, and she fell victim to the destroyer, consumption.
