- Query:Lansing, Hallenbeck, Joslyn, Renoe Jul 10 Researcher:Linda Tutt Email:Linda Tutt Date Posted:July 10 2007 In our family we have a Peter Lansing, born about 1812, most likely
in Otsego or Albany County, NY. He was married twice. I have no
information about his first wife. His second wife was Harriet,
last name unknown. Peter was listed on the 1850 census in Cherry
Valley, Otsego Co, NY, with a birthdate of about 1813. His spouse
was Harriet Lansing, with a birthdate of about 1829 in NY. Also
listed was James Lansing, born about 1836, and Edgar Lansing,
born about 1841, both in NY. Presumably these children were from
Peter's first marriage. Also in the household were Clemen and
Eleanor Renoe. Clemen was born about 1787, and Eleanor born about
1786, both in NY. On the 1860 census, Peter and Harriet Lansing
were listed in Sharon, Walworth Co, WI. Their household at that
time included Elbert Lansing, born 1850 in NY, Emily Lansing,
born 1853 in Illinois, and Jane Lansing, born 9.12.1860 in
Walworth Co, WI. In 1870 the Lansings were back in NY, this time
in Richmondville, Schoharie Co. Peter, with a birthdate of abt
1815 in NY, Harriet, with a birthdate of abt 1829 in NY, Elbert,
born abt 1851 in NY, Louisa born abt 1854 in IL, and Jenny, born
abt 1860 in WI. In 1880, Harriet is living as mother-in-law in
the household of Edward K. Joslyn, and his wife Louise L. Joslyn
in Richmondville. Edward K. Joslyn, with a birthdate of abt 1846
in NY, Louise L., with a birthdate of abt 1854 in IL, Lloyd
Joslyn, with a birthdate of abt 1877 in NY (son), Louise Joslyn,
with a birthdate of abt 1874 in NY (daughter), and Harriet
Lansing, with a birthdate of abt 1832 in NY (mother-in-law).
Peter is not found on the 1880 census. Peter and Harriet Lansing
are buried in lot 28-2 in Richmondville Cemetery. The dates on
their tombstones read Harriet b. 1834 and d. 1898. Peter b. 1812
and died 1894. According to baptismal records of the Methodist
Episcopal Church of Richmondville 1867-1892, Jenny Lansing,
youngest daughter of Peter and Harriet, was record #126 on 5
April 1879. Jenny married Charles Hallenbeck, and they resided in
Schoharie County. They later moved to Otsego Co. Jenny died 14
July 1929 in Oneonta. Charles and Jenny had four children, three
of whom lived to be adults. They were Fred Lansing Hallenbeck,
born 1893, Harold Hallenbeck, born 1895, and Karl Hallenbeck,
born 1898. I am hoping someone recognizes some of these
individuals and may know the origins of Peter and Harriet
Lansing. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
- Query: LLOYD Researcher: Bruce Lloyd
Email:bll5@juno.com Date Posted: 13 June 2004 Alfred Eugene Lloyd, called "Eugene" in his early life, was the son of Anthony Lloyd and Jeanette White. He was born ca 1858 in Greene, NY. He married a Mary F. Donaldson, who was born ca 1865 in NY. I'm wondering if Mary Donaldson, daughter of John C and Mary M C Donaldson shown in the 1880 census for Butternuts, Otsego, NY, is Alfred Eugene's wife. 1900 - 1930 census' info for Alfred and Mary state they and their parents were all born in New York State. Mary of Butternuts is the only person I can find fitting the pattern of age and locale. Thanks in advance for any information.
