There are, however, George (and family), Mary and Chauncey Shivelys in Oneida Co., not far from where the Bancrofts lived. My ggg-grandfather, John JORDAN born March 9, 1764 (don't know where); married probably in Orange Co., NY 1785 to Julia SWARTOUT who was born 1769 d/o Jacobus SWARTOUT. Jacobus was living in 1785 in Sugar Loaf, town of Warwick, Orange Co., NY and assume his 16-year-old daughter, Julia, was living with him at the time of her wedding. John JORDAN does NOT appear in the 1790 census of NYS as 1-2-1...as he would having had two males born to Julia by census time 1790. By 1800, John/Julia and family residing in Cherry Valley, Otsego Co., NY beside her father, Jacobus, and her brother, Moses...She died between 1807 and 1810. An unnamed male child born to her in 1807 and she does not appear in the 1810 census with John. John continued to reside in Cherry Valley until about 1848 when he it was thought he joined three of his sons in the town of Wirt, Allegany Co., NY but having recently found his will probate in Cooperstown, county seat, Otsego Co., learned he died town of Pike, Wyoming County, NY which is where one of his three daughters had settled. He died 1/26/1850 and is buried on lot of my gg-grandfather, Jacob JORDAN, in Mount Hope Cemetery, Friendship, Allegany Co., NY (town in which I was born and brought up) Issue of this marriage: MICHAEL who stated in 1855 census for Steuben Co., NY that he had been born in Orange Co., NY.WILLIAM who settled Steuben Co. JESSE who settled Steuben Co. All of these three died in Steuben County, NY. BETSEY - married Sebastion WELLER and lived in Canajoharie, Montgomery Co, NY ISAIAH - migrated from Otsego to Steuben Co. as young lad with his brother, Michael and lived with Michael until he married Polly Dakin, d/o Elisha...so after marriage, Elisha Dakin and Isaiah with bride migrated to town of Wirt, Allegany Co., NY and bought virgin land there. WILES
Looking for information concerning marriage of Coenradt (Conrad) Wiles and Margaret _____. Their son, Henry, (believed to be their oldest child) was baptized by Rev. Schermerhorn at the Dutch reformed Church of the Town of Otego on April 12, 1807. Coenradt and family and his father Henry Wiles and family may have lived on Wallaces Patent near the village of Otego, NY at that time. They may have moved from Montgomery County sometime prior to 1807. Henry Wiles, who served in the Revolutionary War, died at Huntsville (Otego?) in Otsego County in 1821. Would apprecaite any information concerning Henry Wiles or any of his children which we believe included Coenradt, Adam, Christian, Joseph, John, and Peggy. Where is Henry wiles Buried? WILES
Looking for information on ancestry of Henry Wiles (Weyl, Weil) and Elizabeth Fritcher (Fritscher). Earliest information we have is their marriage at the Reformed Church at Stone Arabia, Montgomery Co., on Oct. 4, 1768. Henry died in Huntsville in Otsego County NY in 1821. Elizabeth died in 1852 in Cortland Co. NY at the agoe of 104. Much of our information comes from a Revolutionary War Record which consists mainly of Elizabeth's application for pension in which she eictates all she remembers about Henry's service (fascinating!!). Incidently, the record indicates that he fought in the "Oriscany Battle with the Indians and British". Historical information concerning the Battle of Oriskany does not include his name. Should it? We believe the children of Henry and Elizabeth included: Coenradt (Conrad) born about 1771 (our ancestor)
Adam born about 1781
Christian born 1789
Joseph
John
Peggy (married Nicholas Coanradt)
We have much information on the Wiles from 1768 to the present that we are willing to share.

WINNE or WINNIE
Looking for a Conrad (b. 1749 Mont. Co.) and Elida WINNE or WINNIE who lived out their later years in Cherry Valley, N. Y. Conrad, according to a Jeff. (NY) Co. history, was born 1749. I suspect the year may be in error. His wife, whose name is stated as Elida and which I suspect may be Jane instead, lived to be 91 yrs. old. Elida prob. died in 1840 or so. They were members of the Methodist Episcopal Church in Cherry Valley. Would appreciate hearing from anyone who may know of church records or cemetery records showing me evidence of this couple's residency in Otsego Co.
