I am trying to trace my DUNBAR line and would like to share with others who are researching that surname. So far I have my line back to Jesse W. DUNBAR (b 1833 d aft 1880) of Otsego County (near Laurens). There seems to have been numerous DUNBARs in that area and a few were named Jesse. My Jesse may have been a horse trainer that lived outside Laurens.
I'm trying to tie census, cemetery, and other records all together but I've yet to link my Jesse to the older DUNBARs found in the county. If you have any connection to the DUNBARs in this area (or elsewhere) I would like to hear from you! I'll be happy to pass on the little I've learned so far.

CLAYTON Polly Ann (unknown) was born in Otsego County between 1810-1815. Around 1835, she married John CLAYTON (b.1803 Duanesburg, Schenectady County, NY). They remained in Otsego County while their first three children were born. These offspring were: Sally (b.1837), Eliza (b.1839) and Julia Ann (b.1841). The young family moved to Charleston, Montgomery County, NY about 1842. There, between 1843 and 1859, six more children were born. Polly Ann died 3 Nov 1873. She was buried with John in a family plot in Charleston. John was probably the son of Peter and Rachel ABBY CLAYTON of Duanesburg. If so, his sister would have been Abigail CLAYTON WELLS, wife of Charleston's Major Robert WELLS. Peter CLAYTON was a veteran of many battles while with the Pennsylvania 10th Regiment (1777-1780) during the Revolutionary War. I would like to know he surname of Polly Ann, and anything that is known about her family. Please contact Bob Clayton, a fan of Otsego Lake.
