About 1796, John DENSMORE, Revolutionary War soldier, came to
Richfield Springs area of Otsego County, from Massachusetts,
with his three daughters and two sons, John Jr., and Eliphalet.
Daughter Susan was married to Isaac SMITH, Sophia to John
WOODBURY, and a third daughter to Benjamin TUCKERMAN.
John DENSMORE, John DENSMORE JR., Eliphalet DENSMORE, Isaac
SMITH, and Benjamin TUCKERMAN are found in the 1800 NY census.
The 1810 census has E. DENSMORE and E. DENSMORE JR., and the 1820
census has John DENSMORE (probably JR.) I am seeking death dates
for John DENSMORE SR. and wife Elizabeth AMOS, as well as information
on any other descendants. Note that DENSMORE has been spelled
"DUNSMOOR", "DINSMORE", "DINSMOOR", as
well.

Sophia SMITH, d.o. Susan DENSMORE and Isaac SMITH, was born
March 17, 1803, Richfield (Monticello), Otsego County, NY. She
married Timothy CLARK, b. June 3, 1794, CT, in St. Luke's
Episcopal Church, on March 28, 1821. Timothy was a Quaker, but
was most likely written out when he married Sophia. With their
two children, Violett Sophia, b. August 27, 1829, and Woodbury,
b. August 1, 1831, they traveled to Wayne County, MI, via the
Erie Canal in 1834. Timothy CLARK is found on both the 1820 and
1830 (Exeter Township) NY censuses. I am seeking information on
Timothy's family and when they came to NY from CT.

About 1808, Nathan BROWN, b. 1 Dec. 1801 in RI, came to Otsego
County, with his parents and six older siblings. His father,
drowned in the Unadilla River about 1814, was married to Anna
COOPER, reportedly related to COOPERS of Cooperstown and John
Hancock. At the age of 25, about 1826, Nathan married Lydia
BUTTS, and they had 4 children before leaving for Wayne Co. MI,
September 5, 1835. While in Otsego County, Nathan was engaged
in the manufacture of dairy ware. The preceding information comes
from a Biographical Sketch found in the 1876 Illustrated Historical
Atlas of Wayne Co. Michigan. I believe one of Nathan and Lydia's
children was my gggrandfather Perrin BROWN, b. abt 1820 NY.
Another child was probably Lester R. BROWN, referred to as
"Uncle Lester" by my grandmother, Perrin's grandaughter. I am
seeking the name of Nathan's father, proof that Perrin is one
of his children, and any other information on this family.

Would like to hear from anyone researching JENNINGS in NYS: Joannah
JENNINGS born
30 Dec 1792 probably in New York State; died 30 May 1872 town of New
Hudson, Allegany Co.,
NY. She married 5 Oct 1815 to Benjamin Kingsbury in Cherry Valley,
Otsego Co., NY. Her
mother's name may have been Hannah and she definitely had a sister Hannah
Jennings who
attested to the marriage of Joannah to Benjamin Kingsbury when Joannah
made application for
widow's pension because Benjamin had served in War of 1812. Joannah died
at home of her
son, Daniel, but she lived her adult life in town of Rushford, Allegany
Co., NY where she and
husband migrated. She is buried Hardy Corner's cemetery at Rushford.
She is my gg-
grandmother. Sure would like to hear from you.
