MACKEY
Two Henry Mackeys (father & son) from New York moved to Georgia in
the 1850s and settled in Butts and/or Henry Counties. I recently learned
that one of them was from "Wooster", New York and wonder if
this could be Worcester?
The elder Henry Mackey was born 21 Sept. 1815 and died 8 Aug 1889. His
son Henry Mackey was born 17 Nov. 1852 and died 23 Apr. 1904. They were
my great- and great-great-grandfathers. Henry Mackey, b. 1852, married
my great-grandmother Annie Moody McMichael and had three daughters. Both
had been married before. I am looking for this Henry's earlier
marriage(s) as well as his father's, who I believe was also married more
than once. Any help or suggestions welcome. Thank you.

Sorely need identity of the parents of my g-g grandfather Horace WETMORE
b. CT 1796:
a) His obituary says he was orphaned at a very early age;
b) In 1814 he enlisted War of 1812 at Liberty, Sullivan County, NY;
c) On April 17, 1817 he sold land in north central Westford Township,
Otsego County, NY that previously had been owned by James WETMORE and/or
Timothy WETMORE and/or Constant WETMORE;
d) On April 18, 1817 he bought land abutting his future father-in-law
Barnes BAIRD in north east Westford Township;
e) On May 8, 1817 he married Clarissa BAIRD (presumably in or near
Westford Township);
f) Subsequently he migrated to Hanover Township, Chautauqua County, , NY
then Carroll Township, then to Warren and Erie Counties , PA where he
died in 1889 having fathered 6 boys (Barnes Baird W., Ebenezer W., Joseph
M. W. ((my great grandfather), Clifford W., Horace W. and Martin W.)
& 3 girls (Sally W., Nancy W. and Hannah W.).
Believe most likely parents are Joseph & Rhoda (_____) WETMORE who,
around 1802, emigrated from Westbury, Litchfield County, CT to Otsego
County together with his mother Elizabeth (EGGLESTON) WETMORE and
brothers Ambrose WETMOREand Ebenezer WETMORE and sister Lois (WETMORE)
HULL (wife of David HULL). Joseph W. died about February 1813 and is
buried in a private cemetery about a mile north of the village of
Westford. Buried in the same plot are his wife Rhoda (who m.George
ROBERTS twelve years after Joseph died) and his dau. Louisa (who m.
Luther DARLING). Another possible son of Joseph & Rhoda WETMORE is
Chester WETMORE (wife Mary DUMET) who owned land there 1817-1829.
Other possible fathers of Horace are the uncle of Joseph WETMORE (wife
Rhoda), Timothy WETMORE (wife Martha EGGLESTON), or Timothy's son, James
WETMORE. James WETMORE owned land in Westford Township from 1800-1804 and
Timothy WETMORE owned land there 1804-1815.
Any help at all in unraveling this Wetmores in Westford tangle would be
greatly appreciated.

Looking for the parents of Sally(Sarah) Ann Shear. She was born on March
17, 1821 in Green County, New York and died on March 10, 1892 in Schuyler
Lake, New York. On May 03, 1842 she married John Wesley Shumway. He was
born on November 06, 1823 in Richmondville, New York. He died on July 07,
1893 in West Exeter, New York as the result of being badly burned in a
barn fire on his farm in Schuyler Lake, NY.
After Sally's married John W. Shunmway they lived in the area of Fly
Creek until about 1862 and then they removed to Schuyler Lake and bought
a small farm.
John's parents were Allen Shumway and Lydia Keach and they lived in the
same general area of Milford, Hartwick and FLy Creek. It is thought that
Sally Shear's parents were of the same general area.
Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Bartlett LEONARD was a teacher in New York State when the War
of 1812 broke out. He enlisted 29 May 1812 in Capt. Henry B.
Armstrong's company of the 13th US Infantry. Some pension
papers mention Cooperstown and then being sent to Green Bush.
Trying to find where he was a teacher and for how long.
