I am interested in finding any information on the New York
Militia. According to my grandfather Malachi Kraham's obituary
he served in Company F of the 17th Brigade of the NY Militia,
under a Captain Chester Fellows. I have checked several sources
but have yet to find anyone who can aim me in the right
direction. I am hoping to find some sort of military records.
My grandfather lived in Cooperstown from 1859 till his
death in 1915. He received an honorable discharge from the
Militia on August 8, 1868. Any information will be appreciated.

Looking for anyone doing research on the CAMPBELL family of Cherry
Valley.
JOHN CAMPBELL, b. 1720, was the son of the immigrant JAMES CAMPBELL, b.
1690;
who m. JANE HUMPHREY. JOHN CAMPBELL m. ELEANOR RAMSEY who was b. abt.
1723.
I have a copy of the hand written will of JOHN CAMPBELL. Up until this
point
I had always assumed JOHN CAMPBELL and ELEANOR RAMSEY had only two
children..
John Campbell who m. Mary McKown and Eleanor Campbell who m. Capt. Samuel
Campbell of Balmory (her cousin). In this will three other children are
mentioned.
Jean Campbell, who m. Samuel McKeen, Martha Campbell, who m. another
Campbell and
JAMES CAMPBELL, who m. SUSANNAH SLOAN. The will gives all his properties
to his
only son JAMES CAMPBELL. This JAMES CAMPBELL was b. 1767 in Cherry
Valley and
his w. SUSANNAH SLOAN was b. abt. 1770. I am looking for a connection
between
this JAMES CAMPBELL and his possible son JAMES CAMPBELL b. 30 Jan 1806,
Cherry Valley who m. ELIZABETH (DEBORAH)HOVEY, who was b. 04 Nov 1808, in
possibly
Minisk, Orange Co., NY. Please e-mail any response. LAUlrich@aol.com

I am looking for information on Sarah and Austin J. Knapp.
According to information I have thus far, Sarah was born in Otsego
County in 1864 and died in Cooperstown April 28, 1921. (at least
these are the dates on her gravestone in the old St. Mary's Cemetery
in Cooperstown) I also found a newspaper clipping mentioning that
Sarah and Austin lived on the corner of Elm and Susquehanna in
Cooperstown. A search of the obituaries at NYSHA yields no
information. Sarah's father was John and Bridget Kraham (also
spelled Graham in a few Census records. Did they have children?
Any information would be appreciated.
