Ira TANNER > CT > NY

From other people's research, I've read that Ira TANNER from CT married Julia FITCH in 
NY in 1790 and had 11 kids; then Julia passed away in Otsego NY in Mar 1808 (this was 
gathered from some other folks research and is not in my tree).
 
In my line, I have an Ira TANNER who marries Rhoda HUBBART in Cooperstown NY in Nov 
1809 and had a son Ira in 1811.

I am researching the descendants of William CHAPPEL 1763-1850 and Ann 
MAPLES 1760- 1843 natives of Connecticut who were early settlers in 
Hartwick in Otsego County . Subsequent identified generations include 
members of the Merrill, Remmey, Andrews, Thompson, Bolton and Doxtater 
families residing in  Hartwick, Otsego, Cooperstown, Middlefield, 
Springfield, Laurens, and Flycreek in Otsego County as well as Ilion 
in Herkimer County.

Paulina Ann recently widowed in 1875.  She was living next door to dau
Phebe  and her family in 1880 census (age 73) Little Valley, Cattaraugus
Co., NY.

My Grandfather, Clarence Totten, and his siblings were the Orphan Home 
of the Holy Savior, Cooperstown, NY. in 1900.  Are there any records 
that I may search to find out more information?  His Mother, Orcelia 
[Dempster] Totten, appears to have vanished,  I need help with records 
location or other sources from anyone living in the area with knowledge 
of the family and or the orphanage.

I am researching the Tubbs, Hill, Welch families that moved to Otsego Co 
NY from either Southern VT or earlier from Norwich CT. This set of families 
them moved to Eden NY where they became the part of the first settlers.


 
Any information on Deacon Samuel Tubbs, William or John Hill or John 
Welch would be appreciated. The time period is late 1700s early 1800s.

Trying to learn where my ancestor, Samuel Tubbs, is buried. He was born 
20 Mar 1733 in Norwich, New London, CT, and died in May, 1805, in Otsego 
County. One source stated that he erected the first mill in Toddsville in 1790.

One of his daughters, Mary "Polly", married Alphaeus Wentworth, and 
several of their children were born in Otsego County.

Before the Revolutionary War Samuel Tubbs lived in Bennington, 
Vermont. He served in the Revolutionary War with Vermont companies.


I would like to hear from anyone researching these families.

THORN

James I Thorn or Thorne, moved to Ostego County NY before 1800,
I am searching for information on his parents, spouse and any
other information.  I believe he was a carpenter by trade.
He may have married in Ostego County NY before moving to
Pennsylvania.  He was in Susquehanna County PA in 1810 and moved
to Clearfield County PA in 1812.  He died in Clearfield County
PA in 1839.  His son Joseph may have been born in New York.
Any information on this family would be appreciated.  The Ostego
County History has him in the Laurens area before 1800. He uses
his middle initial "I" which distinguishes him from other James

Obituaries for following: Thomas Turner died 1875 or 76
in Pittsfield, Otsego, NY.  Left wife and five boys.
His mother, Esther (Tobey) Turner died Nov 1867 near Morris,
