Will of David Hatch


In the Name of God Amen. I David Hatch of Edmiston in the County of Otsego and 
State of New York considering the uncertainty of this Mortal life and being in 
good health and of Sound and perfect mind and memory blessed be Almighty God
for the Same, I do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner
and form following that is to say. First I give my Soul to God that gave it,
and my body to be decently buried by my Executors and as for the Earthly
Substance that God has lent me first I give and bequeath to my beloved wife
Betsy Hatch all her right Dower that the Law allows her. I do also give and
bequeath to my four Daughters Sally Sweet and Lydia Sh? (Shelden?) and Patti
Whitem? (Whiteman?) and Polly Tripp to them and each of them one cow to be
paid in one year after my decease if demanded if not when demanded and lastly
as to all the rest and residue of my Land together with the widows, this be
after her decease and all the rest of my personal goods and chattels of what
kind name or nature soever after paying out my Just debts and funeral charges
I give and bequeath the same to my Son Samuel Tyler Hatch whom I hereby
appoint sole Executor of this my last will and testament in witness whereof I
have hereunto set my hand and Seal the Eighth day of December in the year of
our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twelve.

presence  of us who have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses in the
