STATE OF NEW YORK OTSEGO COUNTY, SS BE IT REMEMBERED, That on the Twenty ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four personally appeared before me, William G. Angel Esquire, Surrogate of the county of Otsego, Nathaniel Mott one of the subscribing Witnesses to the Will of Moses Rose late of the town of Otsego in the said county, deceased; who being duly Sworn declared, that he did see the said Moses Rose bearing date the twentieth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and Twenty four and heard him publish and declare the same as, and for, his last Will and Testament; that at the time thereof, he the said Moses Rose was of sound disposing mind and memory, to the best of the knowledge and belief of the said Nathaniel Mott who together with Calvin Underwood & William Hinds the other Witnesses to the said Will, severally subscribed their hands and names to the said Will, as Witnesses thereto, in the presence of the Testator and of each other. {signed} W. Angel Surrogate OTSEGO COUNTY, SS And be it also remembered, That on the twenty ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four Joseph Rose the Executor named in the last Will and Testament of the said Moses Rose late of the town of Otsego in said county, deceased, likewise appeared before me the said Surrogate, and was duly Sworn to the true execution and performance of the said Will, by his taking the oath of an Executor, as by law appointed. {signed} W. Angel Surrogate The People of the State of New York, By the Grace of God, Free and Independent: To all to whom these Presents shall come, or may concern, send Greeting: KNOW ye, that at Burlington in the County of Otsego, on the twenty ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four before William G. Angel Esquire, Surrogate of our said county, the last Will and testament of Moses Rose deceased, (a copy whereof is hereunto annexed) was proved, and is now approved and allowed of by us; and the said deceased having, whilst he lived, and at the time of his death, Goods, Chattels, or Credits, within this state, by means whereof the proving and registering the said Will, and the granting administration of all and singular the said Goods, Chattels, or Credits, and also the auditing, allowing and final discharging the account thereof, doth belong unto us; the administration of all and singular the Goods, Chattels and Credits of the said deceased, and any way concerning his Will, is granted unto Joseph Rose the Executor in the said will named, he being first duly sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, and to make and exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said Goods, Chattels and Credits, and also to render a just and true account thereof when thereunto required: In testimony whereof we have caused the seal of office of our said Surrogate to be hereunto affixed. Angel Esquire, Surrogate of the said county, at Burlington aforesaid, the twenty ninth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty four and of our Independence the forty-Eighth {signed} W. I Moses Rose of the town and County of Otsego and State of New York (Considering the uncertainty of this Mortal life being of Sound mind and memory Blessed be Almighty God for the Same) do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following (that is to say) first I give and bequeath unto My Loving Brother Joseph Rose his heirs and Assigns all that my mesuage or tenement Situated lying and being in the town ofj Otsego County of Otsego and State of New York, together with all my other freehold Estate whatSoever to hold to him the Said Joseph Rose his heirs and Assigns forever. And lastly as to the rest of my personal Estate goods and Chattels of what kind and nature soever I give and bequeath the Same to my Said Brother Joseph Rose whom I hereby appoint Sole Executor of this my last Will and testament hereby revoking all former Wills by me make.
