CURITTI, Mary Elizabeth
Butler, 85, of McMechen, W.Va., died Wednesday May 4, 2005 in Reynolds
Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, W.Va.
She was born in McMechen on March 29, 1920, the daughter of the late James and Florence Zeile Butler.
Mary was an active
member of the community as a volunteer at the Soup Kitchen; church; a
numerous civic organizations; a retired LPN with O.V.M.C.; a member of
the First Christian Church, McMechen; and a U.S. Army Ordnance Officer
during WWII.
In addition to her
parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wido Curitti on
April 4, 2005; brother, David Butler; two sisters, Margaret Price and
Ruth Nolan.
Mary is survived by many nieces and nephews, including Mary Ann Bailey of New Philadelphia, Ohio and Dan Butler of Glen Dale.
Friends will be received
Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. at the Altmeyer Funeral Home, 214 Marshall
Street, Benwood-McMechen Chapel, McMechen, where services will be held
Saturday May 7, 2005 at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Barger officiating.
Interment will follow at Halcyon Hills Memorial Gardens.
