I am researching my husband's great grandparents who resided in Ironton, OH. They were Henry Hiram Stewart and Mabel Turvey Stewart. They both were presumed to have been born in Ohio and both died in Ironton. Henry in the 1950's and Mabel in the 1960's. Henry was the son of Charles Lafayette Stewart & Mary Margaret Kathryn Noel. Henry's family moved to Lawrence Co. (Hamilton Twp.) from Scioto Co., Ohio where they owned a vineyard. Henry & Mabel had 9 known children: Eldon Claud born 19 april 1907 in Hamilton Twp. Eldon married Winifred Welch Hopstetter, most likely in Ironton. The other children werew William, Henry Jr., Helen, Olive, Flossie, Geneva, a twin male to Geneva who died at birth and another male infant who died in infancy. Seeking information on William Johnson prior request was incorrect. William was born in 1816-1899. Married to Mahala (?maiden name possibly Cook)b1816-1864. They had children named Emily, Andrew, Welcome, William A., Sarah and Mahala. He was then marreid to Serilda MArtin-McKnight. They had children named Byrdine and Syrdine twin boys and also Nancy Ellen and one or 2 others. They are buried at Ross Cemetery in LAwrence County. Also bureid next to them is a Thomas Johnson which I believe may be related to William in some way. Any information that anyone might be able to give would be appreciated. John Elemander HAGGERTY:Born Mar 20th 1845 - wed Celestine o. Compston Sept 1st 1867. Enlisted in Captian Rodger's Company-4th Reg.-Ohio Cav. which later became company 1 - 4th reg.-Ohio cav. Listed as a bugler, but unable to learn music and return to the ranks in Nov. 24th 1861. He was honorably discharged Feb. 8th, Bacon Creek. The company surgeon declared to be discharged because of youth and weak condition. However in less then four months he joined again in Captian Barne's Cpmpany -117 Reg.-Ohio Inf., which became Company D-1 Reg. - Ohio Heavy Artillery. This information was gathered by members of the family. My interest is John Haggerty daughter Nellie married my Great Grand Father George Sherman Stewart. I am trying to trace his parents. Haggerty was not listed in the choices so I thought I would give ypou the information. Seek info on Isaac Tuttle, Lasson and Abram Tuttle. Have found them in 1860 Ohio census, Knox Co. # 818, 819, 820. Do you know the relationship of Lasson and Abram to Issac, my gggfather and spouses maiden names? Isaac moved on to Indiana and died in 1880 in Lake Co. According to census he was born in PA.
