In the Marriage Index for Books 1,2,3, Apr 1817-1843, I see Robert BALL and Sarah WILSON listed for page 3. Where would I find these books or the information on page 3? Robert Ball and Sarah Wilson had a son, James Ball, who married a Virginia Caroline WALKER in Wayne Co., WV. One source I have says they were in Lawrence Co. by 1854. I would be interested in contacting other researchers of these families.

George Alfred's parents were Alfred POOLE b abt 1840 in Mercer Co., VA and Myra BURRESS b VA abt 1840. Emma Ethel's parents were John B. MATNEY b 22 feb 1831 in Lawrence Twp., Lawrence Co., Ohio and Eliza A RAINES b 19 Feb 1847 Monroe Co., VA. Both died in Lawrence Twp., Lawrence Co. Sometime in the early 1820s he left Lawrence County and moved to Tazewell County, VA. I would welcome any information on the Bells of Lawrence County.

His wife's name was Kate. They had several children. His father is Jesse Wallace HUNTER and his mother was a Jenny BOWLING. He was the second child from this union. I thank you for any information. I am searching for information concerning my great grandfather, Walter Jenkins. Family history relates that he was born in Newark, Ohio May 14, 1875. I am told that he was an orphan and later took the name Fred Black Frisbie. The only information regarding birth parents is that his mother's name may have been Florence Armstrong or her name may have been Becky. He is said to be of Irish and Welsh descent. He later married in Oklahoma and then settled in Great Bend, KS. Any information you could give would be a big help.

He was born 20 Aug 1855 in Ohio and she was born March 1865 in West Virginia. They were married 29 March 1883 in Lawrence County, Ohio. I am seeking any birth and death records that you may have. I have a copy of their Marriage Record. 2. James MILLER and his wife Mary. James was born about 1804 in Ohio and Mary was born about 1811 in Ohio. The 1870 Census show them with 4 children living in Rome township, Lawrence County, Ohio. I am seeking birth, death, marriage and any census records you may have on James and Mary. Info on their children would be helpful as well. 3. John A. BALDWIN and Mary BALDWIN. John was born 21 Feb 1837 in W. Virginia and Mary in Aug of 1834 also in W. Virginia. I believe they were married in 1857, but don't know exactly when or where. They are shown in the 1880 Census and 1900 Census as residing in Lawrence County, Ohio. Does anyone have an index for the Lawrence County census for 1860 or 1870? I am looking for my 2nd great grandfather, who may have lived in Lawrence County at that time. I know he and his wife are said to have been buried in the area of Blackfork. He was JOHN JACOB GENSLER/GAENZLE. Either first or last name could have been used. His wife was MARY, last name unknown. He had a son named CONRAD and a daughter named KATE. There were other children, but I do not know other names. If anyone can help me determine if this family was, indeed, in Lawrence County, I would really appreciate it.

LIGHTY or LEIGHTY-- Been trying to find my fathers people. My grandfather was born in Post Boy, Oh., Tuscarawas Co. in 1883. My g-grandparents names were George and Elli McPherson Leighty. My grandfather's obit. said he had two brothers and a sister that was deceased. I don't know how the two different spellings got into the family. John Thomas Bell was the son of Bell and Aleatha Riggs. Bell came from Ironton according to information given in J.T. Bell's application for marriage. Anyone know the name of Bell? My great-great-grandmother was Julia MONNING. She was born in 1846 and in 1866, she married John Adams FISCHER in Ironton. I know she was from Ironton and they were most likely married in a Catholic Church. I have yet to discover her parents' names, whether she had any siblings or the actual date of her birth and her marraige.
Any information you could share with me on the Monning family would, once again, be greatly appreciated. If you haven't the time to search for this information yourself, I understand. But, if it wouldn't be too much trouble, could you please tell me a few places that i might contact to do the search myself?

I am looking for information on my Grandfather JOSEPH FRANKLIN MILLER, he was known as Frank Miller and was Mayor and Justice of the Peace in Athalia, Ohio For over 30 years, and died in 1973, if anyone has in information or stories about him I would like to known . I am researching the FITZER family of Lawrence Co., Ohio. John FITZER, a veteran of the War of 1812, married Mary WOLF in Fayette Co., KY in 1795. After living for a few years in Scioto Co., Ohio, they settled in Elizabeth twp, Lawrence Co., Ohio. Jacob and Andrew Wolf of Lawrence Co., may be relatives of Mary Wolf Fitzer. John Fitzer's birth and origins prior to Kentucky are unknown but he died in Lawrence Co around 1832. HIs wife Mary, daughter of Joseph WOLF, was born in Virginia c 1777 and died in Lawrence Co after 1855. Their children were John (married Mary Woods, lived in Cass Co., IN and died in Wayne Co., IA 1871), Joseph (married Sarah Woods, died in Cass Co., IN In 1881), Sarah (married Asa Henderson), James (married Martha Thomas), Jane (married Joel Clark) and William (married Diana Dilley).

I am researching the WOODS family of Lawrence co Ohio. Hugh WOODS was born in PA 1760 and was in Lawrence Co by 1820. He left there in 1835 and settled in Cass Co., IN where he died in 1854. HIs wife was Barbara, probably Barbara SNYDER (if her surname was Snyder, they married in Berkeley co PA in 1798). She was born in PA or VA in 1776 and died in Cass Co., IN in 1859. THere was a Jesse SNYDER in Lawrence Co., Ohio with whom Hugh Woods was closely associated. The children of Hugh and Barbara Woods were Mary (married John Fitzer), Sarah (married Joseph Fitzer), John, James and Jackson. I would like to know Hugh's origins in PA and to confirm Barbara's maiden name

Daniel Harrison FOREMAN was; b. December 1858 in Lawrence County, Ohio; d. July 3, 1902 in Columbus, Franklin County, Ohio; m. About 1891 to Clara B. WATKINS. Clara B. WATKINS was; b. December 28, 1868 in Franklin County, Ohio; d. March 19, 1943 in Franklin County, Ohio. When Daniel Harrison FOREMAN died, Clara Mae FOREMAN was adopted and her name changed to Myrtle SMITH. The State put Missouria Ann, William Wendall, and Joseph Daniel FOREMAN in a childrens' home. What happened to Elnore Echo FOREMAN is unknown. Andrew FOREMAN went with his mother and was found in the 1910 census living on a farm with another family. Seeking any information on this family.
