"First Slovak Musical Group" organized on June 25, 1908 in the Haselton neighborhood. The leader of the band was Steve Dulin, who is seated just to the right of the bass drum. Joseph Horvat, played the corenet, he is seated in the first row, third from the right. His brother Steven, playing the alto tuba, was in the back row, second from the right. The picture was taken in front of Kupcik's Saloon at 1890 East Cherry Street in Haselton. Mister Kupcik was the treasurer for the band. Other band members were Andrew Kolarik, Mike Volosin, George Novak, John Smorada, John Kotulick, John Novak, Louis Hamrock, John Ulichny, Andy Hlavaty, Joe Hasaj, John Babick, Mike Granchovsky, George Barach (who was best man at Joseph Horvat's wedding in 1907) and Mike Kranack. donated by Joseph Rakocy grandson of Joseph Horvat. |
