This farm was in existance as late as 1900, with family members still in the area. There was a large family reunion at that time with pictures and a write up in the local paper. GRUBBS and connect him to a Grubbs line but have been unsuccessful. There is a strong possiblity that he lived in Stark Co. William GRAHAM and Prudence GRAHAM traveled between Indiana/Armstrong Co. PA and OHIO several times in their married lives. At least 2 of their children were born in Ohio. Oldest daughter, Jane GRAHAM had a son in 1845 to J. GRUBBS. The 1850 census shows Jane and her son, George Washington GRUBBS, still living with her family in Armstrong Co. There is no mention of Mr. Grubbs. Around 1830s a number of Alsatian immigrants settled in Stark Co., OH. Some of these Alsatians arrived on the ship, L'Esperance, that landed in New York in 1828. These Alsatians appear to have been of the Roman Catholic faith and many appear to have been interrelated with other family members arriving in 1830s from Schirrhein. I would like to converse with any descendants whose ancestors may have been from the same area or arrived on the L'Esperance or any other ship from the area. LINK. John LINK came to Kentucky after the Mexican-American War and settled in Logan Co where he married (three times) and raised a large family. Have a record of his having sold the land awarded to him when he was released from the U.S. Army in New Orleans and the land was in Ohio. He sold it through a notary in Canton, Ohio. Family stories say his parents died when he and his brother were young and they were taken in by an uncle. They both ran away to join the army when the war broke out and never returned. The brother (name unknown) either was blown up on a ship or went to California. John Link's parents, according to some sources, are buried in a cemetery in Stark Co. John spoke with a broken accent (German) and again some say he came to this county with his family when he was three; others that he was born here. Have information on John and his children and other descendants from the time he arrived in Kentucky.
