The Rhode Island Historical Cemeteries Descriptions


The first two letters of the cemetery number are the town. Numbers are assigned sequentially in each city and town as each cemetery is registered. PV001 is Providence historical cemetery #1, North Burial Ground. In the description we have included the GPS coordinates where they are available. To see exactly where a cemetery is located go to Google Earth and enter the coordinates. You can copy and paste the coordinates from the web site, but be sure to delete the 'x' between the N and W coordinates. As you zoom in you will see exactly where the cemetery is, within 10 feet. Some of the small family cemeteries can not be seen especially if there is not a stone wall.
