William Morris Smith

William Morris Smith, 76, husband of Helen Ruth Smith, of Alman Street, #7, Jonesville, SC died Tuesday, Nov. 3, 2009 at Wallace Thompson Hospital.

Born in Union County, William was the son of the late Luther and Marie Rodgers Smith.  He attended Union County Schools and was a veteran of the US Army serving in the Korean Conflict.  Mr. Smith was a carpenter by trade.

Surviving are his wife, Helen Ruth Smith of the home; two daughters, Lucille Smith of Jonesville, SC, and Helen J (Terrance) Gist of Boiling Springs, SC; two sons, Maurice and Bruce Smith, both of Jonesville, SC; two grandsons raised in the home, Broderick Eison and Jamarkus Smith, both of Jonesville, SC; four additional grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, Nov 7, 2009, 2 p.m. at Bethany Baptist Church.  Burial in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the home.  viewing will be held from 12:30-7p.m. at the funeral home on Friday.

The Gibson & Brown Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
