S. Carolina &endash; Know all men by these present that Benj Landrum of the said State & dist. of Union in consideration of the Sum of three hundred dollars to him in hand both bargained and sold and in plane & open market deliver unto Williamson Browning of said State and District one one negro boy about seventeen years of age named James to have and to hold all and Singular the said negro boy unto the said Williamson Browning his executor, admis. & assign forever, Provided _____ the less(?) and it is expressly agreed between the Said Parties that of the said Benjamin Landrum his Executors Administrators shall well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto the said Williamson Browning his custom attorney Exec. Adm. or assigns the full sum of three hundred dollars on or before on or before the 25th days of December next thru the above bill of sale and every article & thing therin contained shall cease & be utterly void or else remain in full force and virtue.
