Will of Robert Browning
his will can be found in Will Book B, page 208, Box 21, pkg 16.
Being Sensible of my mortatily and being of a Sound Mind and memory do make this my last Will and Testament -----------------------------------------
First I give myself up to God as a faither Creater to be disposed of by him according to his holy Will and pleasure and as it respects the little worldly property I am blessed with it is my desire and purose it Should be disposed of as follows ------------------------
Item the 1st ---------I will and bequeath to my beloved wife Prissiller Browning in case she is left a Widow one third part of all my real and personal property when Sold by my Executer and funeral expences are defrayed and all my just debts are paid subject however to the following exception viz, That the Young Stud horse now in my possession is according to my desire, to be given to my beloved son Robert Browning by my Executer as a Moity to make him equal to his brothers to whom I have given a horse each thus my Sons will have received a little portion extra to that of my daughter then
Item 2d each of my beloved Sons and daughters to whom I bear equal love is to receive according to my will an equal Share each viz, after my beloved Widow recieves her third Subject however to the following exception ie, all the Crops of every discription and all the provisions on the premises at my decease shall according to my desire to apportioned to my Widow and my Three Children who are now living with me my dear Wife or widow to receive one third part and the other to be divided equal among the three Children viz, Maria Norman Prissillar and Robert Browning -------- It is my will that the Stock on the premises of every discription be not disposed of till the Crops are all gathered in Then after they are, and the Sale and Sales are made the divission of the property to be made according to the formentioned bequeaths by the Executor of my Will whom I here do now appoint Viz, My beloved Son William Browning him I appoint and ordain Executer to my Will and do lawfully and legalely constitute him my true and only Executor to my last Will and Testament --------
Executed and Subscribed to on this Sixth Day of May One thousand eight hundred and thirty four in the presence of us as Witnesses Charles Thurber
