In the Name of God, Amen. I Mary Rhodes of the State of South Carolina & District of Union being very sick and weak in body but of Perfect Mind and Memory do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament.

As touching such worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life; I give Demise and Dispose of the same in the following manner & form.

First I give and bequeath unto my four children Viz. Hiram Rhodes, Permela Rhodes, Matilda Rhodes, Merneme(?) Rhodes the land whereon I now live, containing one hundred & fifty two acres, until they become of age, after they become of age, then the land be my son Hiramsí during his life, & if he dies without an heir, to be then the land to be sold & equally divided between my four daughters.

Secondly, It is my wish after my death that the household furniture, Stock, & Plantation Tools be valued, and my just debts paid, the balance of the property to be kept on the premise to support and assist in raising my four children and until they become of age. Then what remains to be equally divided between my four daughters Viz. Salley, Permela, Matilda, Mernxxx.

Also it is my wish that Brother Kindred Bobo be my Executor to manage my Estate & Prosecute my Will.

I do hereby utterly disallow revoke and disannul every other former Testaments, Wills Legalies, Bequests, & Executors by me in anywise before named Willíd and bequeathíd; ratifying and confirming this, and no other, to be my last Will and Testament; In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Seventh Day of April One thousand eight hundred and fifteen.
