In The Name of God, Amen. The 19th of May 1797, I Thomas Young, of Browns Creek and in the District of Nintysix being sick in body but of good sound memory thanks be to Almighty God & calling to mind the uncertain estate of this transitory life and that all flesh must yield to death. When it shall please God to call, I do hereby make constitute and ordain and declare this to be my last will and testament for the manor and form following. Revoking and Annulling by there presents all and every testament and testaments Will and Wills heretofore by me made and declared either by word or writing and this to be my last Will and no other and first being penitent & sorry from the bottom of my heart for my sins past. Most humbly desiring forgiveness for the same. I give and commit my soul to Almighty God my savior and redeemer in home and by home through the merits of Jesus Christ. I trust and do believe assuredly to be saved and to have a full remission and forgiveness of all my sins and that my soul with my body at the general day of the resurrection shall rise again and with joy threw the merits of Jesus Christ death and Poisson possess. And inherit the kingdom of heaven prepared for his elect and chosen and my body to be buried in such a place where it shall please my Executors hereafter mentioned to appoint and for the settling of my temporal estate of such goods & chattels and lands and debts as it hasth pleased God to bestow to me. & first I do give and dispose the same in the manner and form following. & That is to say first all debts due and lawfull demand that I owe to any person or persons whatsoever shall be complied with and paid or ordered to be paid within convenient time after my decease by my Executors hereafter named xxxx.
I give and bequeath one Shilling Sterling to my son William Young. Likewise I give and bequeath to my son George Young one Shilling Sterling. Lastly I do give and bequeath to my well beloved wife Catterin Young the hole of all my goods and chattels and house furniture, debts due and demand, whatsoever and likewise my land her lifetime which land & after her decease, I order to be given to my youngest son Christopher Young, my hole and seal. Executor in testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and date above written.

Personally appeared before me, Joseph M.Junkin, a Justice for So. County C. Thomas Brandon, William Kenneday Esqr, John Brandon and made oath as the law directs. That they did see Thomas Young sign seal and declare the within to be his Last Will and Testament. And the witnesses did believe the said Thomas Young was of the said time in his proper senses as when in his ordinary health, sworn to and subscribed before me.
