Iredell Department:

Of late there has been some activity in real estate in our midst. Mr. H F
FRITZ, residing west of Iredell sold his farm consisting of 150 acres to Mr.
OWENS of Cranfills Gap for $1,500. W D LUSK last week sold to J C PHILLIPS
one house and lot in old Iredell consideration not known.

P E TRIMBLE successor to the firm of TRIMBLE & HUBBERT in the drug business
has sold out to E L DEATHERAGE Jr., of this place."BUD" is a clever boy and
we wish him success.

We regret to learn that our old friend Mr. S F OZBURN has decided in the
future to take up abode in Meridian. We regret to lose so good a citizen as
FRANK, and commend him the confidence and respect of all. As a pastor his
services will be sadly missed by us all.

Misc.
MR DAN COLLINS a stone mason fell from the top of the new courhouse walls on
Friday last to the ground a distance of forty five feet and received serious
bruises and contusions to the right side including the fracturing of the
right elbow. Dr. LUMPKIN saw him immediately gave him attention and he is
expected to resume work among the builders in a few days.

In Memoriam
Miss ELIZABETH MORGAN, daughter of DANIEL and CAROLINE MORGAN was born in
Anderson Co, TX April 19, 1866 and departed this life in Bosque County
August 23, 1886 after a long and painful illness from lung disease. She was
much beloved by all who knew her and was a consistent member of the
Methodist church and died in full faith of the Christian religion.

HALE - GOODALL by R G GANES on the 2nd inst at the residence of the bride's
father near Valley Mills, Mr F C HALE and Miss MARGARET GOODALL by
permission from Mr. GEORGE W RANDAL County Clerk duly executed license to
commit matrimony under the seal of the court and sanction of law.

BANDY COBB, a colored man about twenty years old died on the night of the
5th at JOHN COPELAND's in Meridian of typhoid fever. He was sick about a
week.

Hon W L McGAUGHEY has appointed Miss FANNIE CHILDRESS daughter of Judge
CHILDRESS to a scholarship in the Sam Houston State Normal School.

DIED - after an illness of ten days CAREY STYLES VINCENT aged 10 years, 1
month and 18 days, eldest son of JAMES I? & LOUELLA STYLES VINCENT and
grandson of Col. and Mrs CAREY W STYLES at the family residence in Meridian,
Texas, Sept 8, 1886 at 10:20 p.m.
