Frances Metcalf
Frances Metcalf, 74, of Joshua, died Sunday
afternoon, 29 Aug 1982 in St.
Joseph Hospital, Ft. Worth, after an extended
illness. Services were held
Wednesday afternoon, Sep. 1, at Brister-Lawson
Funeral Home Chapel in
Meridian, with Rev. Joe Lee of Morgan
officiating. Burial was in the Green
Acres Memorial Cemetery in Cleburne. Born 1 Nov
1907 in Rio Vista, to the
late Frank & Nancy Weston Ryals, she moved to
Bosque County as a small
child & settled in the Steiner & Kopperl areas,
where she was raised. She
married Fred Metcalf on 17 Oct 1929, in
Kopperl. Frances was a former
resident of hIll County, & Ft. worht & had live
in Joshua for th epast 18 years.
She was a member of the Pentecostal Church.
Survivors: her husband,
Fred Metcalf of Joshuea; daughter, Mrs. Harold
(Juanita) Ballinger of Joshua;
sister, Mrs. Annie Hasty of Meridian; 2
brothers: James Ryals of Morgan &
George Ryals of Ft. Worth; 1 granddaughter; 2
great grandchildren; 4 step
grandchildren; 6 step great grandchildren.
Pallbearers: George Ivy, Gary
Johnston, John Land, Lewis Land, Glen Land, &
Wayne land.
