A. C. Nivin, Sr

 
A.C. Nivin, 87, of Meridian, who died Tuesday morning, 26 April 1988, at
Goodall-Witcher Hospital Foundation in Clifotn, after an illnness of 2 weeks.
Services were hled Friday, 29 April at 2 pm in Meridian First United Methodist
Church with Rev. Bill Reed officiating./  Burial was in Meridian Cemetery, with
Lawson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.  Born 28 Sep. 1900 in Morgan,
he was the son of the late Silas & Nancy Harris Nivin.  He was rasied in Dyersville
Community of Bosque County.  He married Mary Spitzer on 15 March 1925
in Meridian.  They moved to Meridian in 1936, & settled on their farm just north
of Meridian, where he worked as a farmer, rancher, & was also in the real estate
business.  He served 2 terms on the Meridian school board, & was a member
of the Methodist Church.  He was preceded in death by a son, A.C. Nivin, Jr.
in 1941.  Memorials may be made to the Meridian First United Methodist
Church or to North Bosque Volunteer EM.S. in Meridian.  Survivors:  his wife,
Mary Nivin of Meridian; 2 daughters:  Violet Tabler of Clifotn, & Joyce
Swartout of Warren, Mich.; 5 granddaughters; 2 great grandchildren, & other
relatives.  Pallbearers:  Billy Frank Spitzer, Alton Hanna, Henry Bass, Mercin
Spitzer, Bill Hardcastle, & Eugene Allen.
