Heart Attack Fatal To A. O. Patterson At Home

Died at his home, near Meridian, Texas,
Saturday, August 7, 1943, at 12:30
o'clock p.m. Mr. Artis Otto Patterson, age 60
years, 8 months and 21 days.
Funeral services were held in the Meridian
Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon,
August 10 at 5 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E.
Milford Howell, pastor, who
paid a beautiful tribute to the membory of
deceased. Interment was in Meridian
Cemetery. Deceased by (sic) born at Eden,
Alabama, November 16, 1882
and was the son of the late W. F. (William
Fields "Billy) and Nettie R. (Mary
Antony ROYAL) Patterson and came to Texas with
his parents in 1895 and
lived in Bosque County for 47 years and for more
than 30 years near Meridian.
At an early age he was converted and joined the
Baptist Church. He married
Miss Gertrude Mobley August 30, 1902 and to this
union were born eight
children -- three girls and five boys as
follows: Mrs. Lula Nystel, Roscoe
William and Otto Patterson of Meridian; Mrs
Orean Smith of Beaumont;
Eulan Patterson, of the Armed Forces, stationed
at Myrtle Beach S.C.; Mrs.
Dewey Wellborn, of Brown wood and Leslie
Patterson, of Cleburne, all of
whom survive him, his first wife haveing
preceded him in death in 1933. In
the year 1934, he was united in marriage to Mrs.
May Mobley and he is also
survived by her and four step-daughters; Mrs.
Ruby Pierce, of Dallas, Mrs.
Nannie Grimm and Mrs. Oma Lee Owen of Meridian,
and Mrs. Fay King of
