WHITNEY MESSENGER FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 5, 1986
Mrs. Laura Turner, age 85 of Whitney, died Sunday morning August
31 at the Park Plaza Nursing Home in Whitney. Funeral Services were held at
10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, at the First Assembly of God Church with Rev.
Curtis McCehee officiating. Burial folled in the Whitney Cemetery. Mrs. Turner
was born September11, 1900 in Bosque County, the daughter of James Martin and
Lula Pollard Epps. She lived most of her life in Hill County. She married
Oliver A. Turner, August 25, 1917 and he died in January of 1966. Also preceded
in death by two sons, Billie D. Turner of Whitney June 20, 1983 and James Paul
Turner of Hillsboro May 7, 1986. She was a member of the First Assembly of God
Church in Whitney. She is survived by: one son, Melvin Eugene Turner of Waco;
two daughters, Mrs. Hazel King of Fort Worth and Mrs. Opal Parks of Eldorado;
one brother, Jimmy Epps of Fort Worth; two sistersMrs. Nettie Heath and Mrs.
Ruth
Vinson, both of Whitney; eight grandchildren and six
great-grandchildren. Arrangements were under the direction of Marshall and
Marshall Funeral Home in Whitney.
