Stephen Wade Worrell was born February 27, 1859, in Johnson Co
Texas and passed away at the age of 82 on January 21, at the home of his niece,
Mrs. Arthur Kimball in Hamilton. Mr. Worrell was one of the 10 children and the
last surviving member of his immediate family. While still a boy he made the
most important decision that all of us must make in life. He accepted Christ as
his Saviour and promised to follow him in all that he did. His faith is
rewarded. At the age of 19 years, he meet and married Sarah Elizabeth Temple,
who was born March 5, 1864 in Erath Co. Texas. To this union six children were
born. Jimmie a son died in infancy and a daughter, mars. Dovie Hutchins passed
away, October 9, 1940 aged 38. Mr. Worrell's illness was long but he bore it
with patience, he knew when he left this world, he would be forever at rest
where there is no more pain. Besides his wife he is survived by four children,
two boys and two girls. They are; mars. H. M. Howard of Hico, J. H. Barnhill of
Roscoe, Mr. H. W. Worrell of Clovis, New Mexico and Mr. W. B. Worrell of
Iredell. The funeral was held in Hamilton the following day and burial near
Hamilton. The relatives have the sympathy of their friends.
Researchers notes:
Stephen Wade Worrell was a farmer in Bosque for most of his life. He raised
his family of six children in Bosque county. His wife Sarah Elizabeth Temple
Worrell is buried at Riverside cemetery. Stephen however is buried at Liveoak in
Hamilton county.
