Wm. HESLEP Esq.

Caldwell, Texas

Dear Sir:

About 1 year ago, one Will JEFFERSON and (Josephine, I think) HOLSTEIN, went over to your county and procured a marriage license and were married. I have reason to believe that Will Jefferson went under the name of Will WILSON when he procured the license. If on investigation you find such to be the fact, that he procured the license as Will Wilson, please send me a certified copy with the ministers or officers -------

------ [unreadable]. I’ll remit the amt. Yours Sam R. HENDERSON, Attorney at Law, Bryan, Texas

Typed letter dated April 2, 1898

W.N. HESLEP

Caldwell, Texas

Dear Sir,

Since writing you on investigation, I find that the womans name was Elizabeth ADAMS, it had been HOLSTEIN, she had married an Adams, so you will look for the names of Will Wilson and Elizabeth Adams. She may have gone under an assumed name and Holstein may have been the name. Your early attention will greatly oblige. Yours etc.

Sam R. HENDERSON, attorney at law, Bryan , Texas
